East Valley Enrichment Classes

Anchor Enrichment Classes provide students in grades K–12 with opportunities to explore special interests through engaging classes such as cooking, baking, theater, art, martial arts, STEM classes, and other hands-on learning experiences. These enrichment opportunities allow students to take a deeper dive into subjects and skills that cannot be covered during regular Anchor Days.

 

Through partnerships with local businesses, professionals, and community organizations, students gain access to unique learning experiences that enrich their homeschool education. Enrichment Classes complement our Anchor programming by fostering creativity, practical life skills, and meaningful connections with peers who share similar interests. As a ClassWallet Direct Pay Vendor, Anchor makes it easy for all families to access high-quality enrichment opportunities while supporting their homeschool journey.

Annual Registration to Enroll: $50 per Student

MONDAY MORNING CLASSES

BALLET AND TUMBLING with Cue Dance Studio

Mondays 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.

Ages 5-7

Ballet & Tumbling (Ages 5–7)

Build confidence while developing a strong foundation in dance through this engaging, age-appropriate class. Students learn beginner ballet fundamentals, including proper posture, basic ballet positions, coordination, balance, flexibility, musicality, and introductory tumbling skills through creative movement and fun activities. In addition to ballet instruction, students participate in strength and flexibility training designed specifically for young dancers. They build core strength, improve balance and flexibility, and develop healthy movement habits that help prevent injury while supporting success in all styles of dance. This class provides the perfect starting point for new dancers in a fun, encouraging, and supportive environment.

HIP HOP AND POP FUSION with Cue Dance Studio

Hip Hop & Pop Fusion (Ages 8–12)
Get moving in this high-energy dance class that combines hip hop fundamentals with today's pop-style and K-pop choreography. Students build rhythm, coordination, musicality, confidence, and performance skills while learning grooves, street-style movements, freestyle techniques, and increasingly dynamic choreography. Dancers strengthen their movement quality and develop greater precision as they explore a variety of hip hop styles in a fun, encouraging environment. In addition to dance instruction, students participate in strength and flexibility training designed specifically for dancers. They build core strength, improve balance and flexibility, and develop healthy movement habits that help prevent injury while enhancing technique and athletic performance across all dance styles.

Period Prep Club (Ages 8-16)

The middle school years can be awkward, but feeling confused and uncomfortable in your body doesn’t have to be the reason why! In this 6-week program, girls learn all about the physical and emotional changes that come with first periods and how to navigate these changes with confidence and compassion. We have two classes dedicated to each content pillar: Know Your Body, Trust Your Body, and Embrace Your Authenticity. Each class is an interactive experience with lots of opportunities for the girls to ask questions and integrate the information. Parents receive a weekly email with an overview of what we are talking about that week along with a prompt to continue the conversation at home.

Explore the magic of storytelling through visual and performing arts! Students learn how to tell their own stories while gaining an understanding of story structure, character development, and sequencing. We create our own books while learning illustration techniques and build confidence in public speaking by sharing our stories and performing with others. This class fosters self-expression, creativity, and collaboration while helping children build foundational literacy and communication skills.In the last class of each semester, parents are invited into the classroom so the students can present their stories in front of an audience!

Architecture Art Class (Grades K-6)

Students get to explore architecture through drawing and fun hands-on building experiences. We learn how to plan structures, use shapes and proportions, and turn ideas into designs. We sketch buildings and bridges, experiment with materials, and construct our own architectural designs while testing what works and what doesn’t. From popsicle stick houses to magnatile castles, this class turns simple materials into real structural thinking—helping students design, build, test, and improve their own creations.

Master the Art and Science of Baking (Grades 4-12)

"The Curious Chef" is more than just a once-a-week, 2 hour, baking class. It is a fun, interactive journey where culinary adventures and practical life skills come together. Our comprehensive 30-week curriculum blends scientific understanding with hands-on creativity, ensuring your young chef builds both skill and confidence. 

 

Your Child Gains

  • Essential Life Skills by mastering kitchen safety, hygiene, and age-appropriate knife skills while developing independence and responsibility.

  • Baking Science by going beyond the recipe to understand the "why" behind every flaky crust and fluffy cake. We explore concepts like chemical reactions, temperature control, and the role of different ingredients.

  • Culinary Creativity by baking from scratch. They create artisanal breads and delicate pastries like macarons as well as  custom cake decorations. Each step of the way, students are encouraged to personalize flavors and test their artistic style.

  • Confidence & Teamwork by working in small groups. Kids build self-efficacy and forge lasting friendships as they slice, dice, and stir their way to delicious treats.

Friday Science Ventures (Ages 10-18)

 

Delving into God’s creation through hands-on discovery, fabrication, and exploration

 

Friday Science Ventures is an engaging, hands-on course designed for students ages 10–18 to explore the wonders of God’s creation through scientific observation, investigation, and discovery. Throughout the school year, students will examine foundational concepts in life science, Earth science, and physical science while developing scientific vocabulary. Students build models, conduct experiments, complete laboratory activities, and practice using both the scientific method and the engineering design process to answer questions and solve problems. Each workshop is designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, observation, and collaboration in a fun and interactive learning environment. Students gain confidence using scientific tools and techniques while making meaningful connections between scientific concepts and the world around them and recognizing the consistency and order of the natural laws established by God. No prior science experience is required—just a willingness to ask questions, explore, and learn through hands-on investigation.

MoezArt Productions (Middle School and High School Grades 4-12)

MoezArt provides performing arts education to the community in a Christ-honoring environment that fosters leadership, confidence, and friendship. Through a Christ-centered theater experience, MoezArt empowers creativity, builds character, and glorifies God through the arts . Students participate in a supportive community that celebrates the unique gifts, talents, and abilities of every individual while encouraging teamwork, fellowship, adaptability, and personal growth.

 

Through engaging middle school and high school theater classes, students develop acting and performance skills, strengthen confidence, and explore their creativity in a dynamic and encouraging environment. The program pursues excellence in every production and class, creating meaningful opportunities for artistic development and lifelong skills. Classes meet weekly by semester and provide structured, hands-on theater education for students ages 10–18, including combined opportunities through their partnership with Anchor. Since 2002, MoezArt has presented quality youth theater productions that inspire creativity, collaboration, and discovery while enriching families and the surrounding community. Families may also choose to use qualifying classes as fine arts credit for middle school or high school transcripts.

Mini Moez (Early Elementary Grades K-3)

Welcome to Mini-Moez, where young performers ages 5-9 embark on a delightful journey of creativity and discovery. MoezArt’s mission is to provide performing arts education to the community in a Christ-honoring environment that fosters leadership, confidence, and friendship.Our program is designed to cultivate a love for theater while celebrating the unique gifts and talents of each child. With a focus on glorifying Jesus through their performances, our goal is to instill joy and confidence in every participant. Mini-Moez also serves as a stepping stone for younger children to enter our middle school program, providing a fun and supportive environment for growth. Join us as we create lasting memories and have a blast on stage!

Whisk Wizards

Where Kitchen Magic Happens! Is your child ready to turn ordinary ingredients into extraordinary treats? Join Chef Tammy for a 30-week journey into the delicious world of baking! The Whisk Wizards is a high-energy, hands-on class designed specifically for creators in. We’ve removed the "boring" parts of school—no long recipes to read and no complicated math. Instead, we use color-coded tools and visual recipe cards so every wizard can feel like a pro from day one, regardless of the student’s reading level. Each student creates a visual workbook to take home.

 

The 30-Week Adventure Roadmap

  • The No-Bake Lab: Energy bites and "magic" gummies.

  • The Dough Dungeon: Hand-tossed pizzas and "Dough Snake" pretzels.

  • The Sweet Studio: Fudgy brownies, "Cloud" cupcakes, and "Snow-Dusted" cookies.

  • The Grand Finale: A "Grand Opening Bakery" graduation party where students show off their signature bakes.

 

What Students Learn

  • The Science of "Squish": Mastering doughs, batters, and no-bake bites.

  • Safety Spells: Learning "The Oven Zone" and how to handle kitchen tools like a master.
